PSA Licensed Access Control Contractors must ensure they:

  • Install safely to manufacturer instructions and report concerns to suppliers
  • Assess site specific hazards, reporting and recording these
  • Assume legal responsibility of the installation
  • Document all installations to meet EN standards
  • Undertake mandatory force testing to suit gate installations
  • See that all work must is carried out by competent, trained, skilled fitters
  • Inspect and test all work on completion
  • Supply a Maintenance File and Certificate of Compliance to the client
  • Compile a Technical File and retain it unchanged for at least 10 years after installation

PSA 80 expects all installers to be technically competent and formally trained, not simply “experienced”.

Only PSA Licensed Access Control Contractors should install or service automatic gates. new contractors are required to hold a PSA licence in the category “Installer of Security Equipment – Powered Gates” and undertake the required auditing.

Many of these requirements are ALREADY laid out in our CAMESAFE course, but in this one-day course, we will give an overview of these requirements, and although this course WILL NOT be Certificated, it will aim to give you a good understanding of the requirements you will need to work under in order to follow the licensing requirements of PAS80:2025.

We will also look at, and give demonstrations of Safety Devices usage including Force Testing, and discuss products CAME offer which are “EN compliant”, what this means to you, and how to be best prepared to meet the new standards in Ireland.

What will I get out of it?

Attendees will gain an understanding of the requirements demanded by PSA 80.

What will I receive?

Each attendee will receive an official CAME certificate of attendance.

How many people will attend?

Each course is attended by a maximum of 20 attendees. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the day both during breaks or over your complimentary lunch.

How will the course be presented?

Our experienced course leader will give an informative theoretical presentation using projector slides and demonstrations in a classroom environment. This is followed by an in depth opportunity for demonstrations and practice with the Force Test devices.
